Out of the two games, this one is probably the worst – but not by much. From what I understand, this game wasn’t widely available meaning this is probably the first time people have had the opportunity to play it. Hoo boy, I wish they had stayed obscure and dead. Thankfully, Tecmo Koei has come to the rescue by porting Monster Rancher and Monster Rancher 2 in a DX package, to all modern consoles. It was a hoot.ĭespite this brief, yet bright obsession with Monster Rancher, I never played the games. There was this big evil dude who looked like a bipedal cow in armour called Moo, a freaky eyeball thing, and I shit you not, a horned wolf called Tiger. I was a massive fan of Monster Rancher as a kid. One franchise that fits into this category, but is largely forgotten about, is Monster Rancher. Whether it was Medabots, Digimon, or heck, even Yu-Gi-Oh, it all seemed to stem from this desire to feed off the champ’s success.

If Region Specific, at least keep Fan-Favorite Monsters throughout the series still in there. Matches.Ī bit more Customization like 3 and 4 did but Training has more impact rather than letting go by too quickly. Keep what makes 2 great the most but a little bit more control and foresight raising your Monsters and Fighting in both Single Player and Vs. Not all of them should be in the game, but I have a few ideas. 4's Schedule-Based Training seems a little bit mixed, save for interacting and feeding your monsters. The game wouldn't even tell you about your Monster taking Lifespan Hits save for your Assistant's Input so that would helpful indications. 3's KO Wins makes Round-Robins a bit more Challenging for Single Player.
I would to keep what 2 works the most but have most of the Stats Spread a bit more apparent instead like Stress, Spoil and Fear without too much away. I have very heavy bias towards 2 because it was my first and favorite Monster Rancher Game I played, but I have played all 4 Mainline Monster Rancher Games and the DS one.
